MOSTA BEAT MELLIEHA TO STAY ON COURSE FOR PROMOTION

On Sunday Mosta returned to winning ways with a win over Mellieha in what was supposed to be the last match of the season but a decider is still to be played. This win also meant that Mellieha are relegated to the second division after just one season.

For this match, Michael Molzahn`s side had Melvin Farrugia and Mario Abela missing because of injuries and Antonio Saliba who was suspended, all from the defence. In the first half, Adrian Borg had to be substituted too after suffering an injury and was replaced by Nikki Gatt. Mosta took the lead after 10 minutes with a goal by Ndayi Kalenga. Just before half-time, Carlos Camenzuli doubled the score. On the hour Mosta made it 3-0 with another goal by Ndayi Kalenga.

MOSTA, QORMI, TARXIEN.......WHO WILL BE THE TWO TEAMS PROMOTED ??

Although Mosta and Qormi are at the top of the table and have no sheduled matches left, they still have to wait for the result of the last match which Tarxien have against St.Patricks. Tarxien are just a point behind the same Mosta and Qormi. Last Saturday St.Patrick`s beat Marsa and made sure of their place in the First division next season. So if Tarxien manage to win against the Saints, then a decider will be played between Mosta and Qormi to decide who will be promoted as a runner-up. If Tarxien end in a draw, then the three teams will end on level points and in that case the best out of those three teams, considering the direct encounters, will be promoted automatically and the other two will play a decider. This means that Mosta and Tarxien would have to play the decider as Qormi have the best results. If Tarxien loose against St.Patrick`s, Qormi and Mosta will be promoted and they play a decider for the first and the second place. Therefore, Mosta are still to play a decider for sure !
